The spread of COVID-19 and the health of our citizens is of utmost importance. Our lives have been turned upside down in less than two weeks with changes almost daily. These are unprecedented times for all of us.
Christmas notification sounds update#
I wish to update you on behalf of the Council and staff of the City of Owen Sound with regard to COVID-19. Please continue to show compassion and understanding to each other. I encourage everyone to practice social distancing, avoid large groups of people, and wash your hands often. In consultation with medical officials there may be further steps taken to protect city staff and residents. We are monitoring events provincially and locally. Many of the facilities, services and stores that are important to us are closed, and activities that have kept us occupied and entertained are on hold for now.Ĭity staff and contractors will continue to maintain the critical functions including water, wastewater, winter road maintenance, garbage pickup, transit, police and fire. I want to thank all members of our Owen Sound community for your understanding and compassion in these trying times. We urge residents to exercise caution in the coming weeks when using the roads and sidewalks. A State of Emergency allows the City to access additional resources, should they be needed, to continue to offer the services our residents depend on.Ĭity residents are reminded that many City services are reduced at this time, including road and sidewalk maintenance. Riders must always wear a face covering (mask) while riding.Proof of Vaccination is required at each facility for those 18+.Ice pads at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre and Bayshore Community Centre are open to the public, with both facilities operating at 100% capacity.Council, Committee, and DIA Board Meetings will be held in-person with public attendance restrictions still in place.Online payment services remain available for tax and utility payments.Civil marriage services will be performed Friday-Sunday with Public Health restrictions in place.
